You are a Divine being. Chosen by Source to be the creator in human form. No wonder the patriarchal order has disempowered you to turn away and disconnect from your nature. What do you really know about your menstrual cycle? Were you properly prepared to honor the wisdom of your nature? Was there a ceremony or ritual to celebrate the arrival of your first blood? Most likely the answer is no. Were you made to feel your cycle was something to be ashamed of? That your cycle was a curse or a punishment because woman was disobedient, a temptress. Most likely the answer is yes. I know what society has done to the Divine Feminine. I’m here to support our liberation! A woman’s nature is sacred. Your menstrual cycle connects you to the sacred Divine Feminine. Ancient cultures considered a woman’s menstrual blood sacred. We are the time keepers. We are directly connected to the Moon, it’s time to reconnect. It’s time to feel into your Divine nature, it’s cyclical. Feel your feelings, tune into your intuition, tap into the creative power of your root, embrace your cycle. The wisdom of your menstrual cycle should be honored; it is magical. The more in tune you become with it, the more comfortable and empowered you will be. Every woman's relationship with here body is different, therefore her cycle will be unique. If you take birth control or have been diagnosed with reproductive disorders that make your cycle “irregular” do not be discouraged! You can still tap in. Your body wants to be loved by you unconditionally. If you start to understand your cycle, the wisdom of your body will start to give you healing revelations. Every woman has access. A woman’s menstrual cycle is divided into four phases:
1. Follicular Phase- Pre-egg release (Lasts around 7-10 days) This phase is also known as pre-ovulation. This phase overlaps with your menstrual phase and occurs around day 6-14. Day 1 is the first day of bright red bleeding, and the end of this phase is marked by ovulation. While menstrual bleeding does happen in the early part of this phase, the ovaries are simultaneously preparing to ovulate again. The hypothalamus sends a signal to the pituitary gland to release a hormone called FSH-(follicle stimulating hormone), which stimulates your ovaries to get to work! Your energy will likely be high. So go after those creative projects! Cycle Syncing Support:
2. Ovulation Phase- Process of egg release (Lasts around 3-4 days) The release of the mature egg happens on about day 14. After release, the egg enters the fallopian tube where fertilization may take place, if sperm are present. If the egg is not fertilized, it disintegrates after about 24 hours. Once the egg is released, the follicle seals over and this is called the corpus luteum. Stay hydrated during this time, your body temperature rises slightly. This is the time many women feel sooo divine. Your sex drive is ramped up and your confidence is on 100! Please be mindful, if your estrogen levels are higher the effects can be reversed so agitation, depression and restlessness could happen. Find out about estrogen dominance which is something I struggled with in my mid-twenties. Cycle Syncing Support:
“Woman is a beam of the divine Light. She is not the being whom sensual desires takes as its object. She is Creator, it should be said. She is not a creature. -Rumi3. Luteal Phase- Post-egg release (Lasts around 10-14 days) This is the longest phase and happens around day 18–28. Estrogen and testosterone levels fall while progesterone is on the rise. If the mature egg isn’t fertilized, hormone levels decrease and the corpus luteum disintegrates and signals the endometrial (uterine) lining to begin shedding. Look, I said all that to say, sis you probably PMS'n hella strong! It's okay, honor that! Some women may not have any symptoms I'm an example of that, I experienced estrogen sensitivity, so I never had horrible symptoms during this time. If it's smooth sailing, then enjoy honey!! Overall, this is the time to take care of yourself. Cycle Syncing Support:
4. Menstrual Phase- Endometrium sheds (Lasts around 3-7 days) The thickened lining of your uterus begins to shed if your egg wasn't fertilized and you start your period. This is "technically" the start of your mental cycle phase, and starts from day 1-5 of your menstrual cycle. Pay attention to your blood during this time. During the first two days, the blood should be bright red, then gradually start to darken as the days go on, and become lighter on the final days. If not, you'll want to look at your lifestyle (dietary intake, stress levels, rest, reproductive health). This is the time you really want to rest and go easy. Your body is sensitive and achy. Get as much rest as you can. Cycle Syncing Support:
The length of each phase can differ from woman to woman, and it will change over time. It’s essential to get familiar with your cycle so that you can better connect and be attuned to your body and its natural rhythms. I really hope this helped and empowered you to pay close attention to the wisdom found in connecting and understanding your cycle.
